Lord Rees: “We Need a Global Conversation About Migration”
RAMP Associate Lord Rees featured on GB News yesterday, where he described migration as a global challenge that requires coordinated international solutions and conversations. He noted that the discussion should extend beyond a UK-focused debate and instead address wider global factors, including climate displacement, conflict, inequality, and the global economy as well as the role countries can play in mitigating these drivers through investment and cooperation.
Lord Rees also highlighted the economic benefits of migration, drawing on his experience with the Mayors Migration Council. He stated that human mobility is needed for economic prosperity and that the priority should be to ensure effective management and support for the movement of people.
