Lord German Speaks at Debate on the Cranston Inquiry

RAMP Associate Lord German spoke at a Lords Chamber Hall Debate on small boat deaths and the Cranston Inquiry following an Oral Question by Lord Dubs.

The Cranston Inquiry found that at least 30 people who died in a November 2021 small-boat crossing might have been saved, identifying systemic shortcomings, missed distress calls, and coordination issues in the rescue response.

Lord Dubs asked what action the government will take in response to the report. In response Lord Hendy, the Lord's Transport Minister, stated that an interim response is planned by the end of May.
