Tim Farron MP Asks Question on Proposals to Increase Qualifying Period for Settlement
There were Home Office Oral Questions in Westminster Hall yesterday.
RAMP Principal Tim Farron MP asked a question on the potential impact of the proposed increase to the standard qualifying period for settlement on NHS staffing levels.
He raised concerns about the potential impact of increasing the qualifying period for settlement for overseas health and social care workers. He asked the Minister to clarify whether the proposed changes would apply retrospectively and noted that this policy could affect the future recruitment and retention of staff in the health and care sectors across the UK.
